The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again. Untouched by the impurity, lotus symbolizes the purity of heart and mind. The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor and good luck.
I picked blues and greens for this necklace to represent the earth and the sky. There is a small fine silver heart hanging from the clasp to represent the heart sutra.(The Heart Sutra reveals the entire secret of truth of the universe and life. ) Both charm and pendant were made by yours truly. Needless to say the one who receives this necklace receives more than just silver and stones.
